Unexploded personnel and anti-tank mines have been left all over Ukraine including in the farmlands of recently liberated Ukrainian territory. Since the war requires most explosive ordinance disposal specialists to be at the frontline, few resources are available for civilians to demine the rest of the country. 

AlpineDignity's goal is to purchase a tool crucial for this effort: a magnetometer. For specifications please refer to SPH Engineer's website. SPH is a Latvian company and is a world leader in development and test of drone mounted magnetometers and metal detectors for lots of applications such as mineral detection, land surveying, UXO detection, landmine detection and mapping, as well as other topographical based techniques. We have been in contact with the company's international business team and have determined the MagNimbus would be best suited for our use. 

The $ amount for this fundraiser covers:

1. Cost of the MagNimbus magnetometer

2. Additional software needed for mapping of flight plan, geolocation, and analysis

3. Training on use of magnetometer and data analysis software

Additional fundraising and investment will be put into purchasing a suitable drone to mount the device, but we are currently focusing on the more expensive and less available mine detecting magnetometer. Once proficient and training in using the system, volunteers from AlpineDignity will travel to Ukraine to work with farmers to test, target, and mark landmines in Ukrainian agricultural sites.
